After his father’s untimely death, the boy remains in the eerie solitude of a spacious country estate with his recently widowed stepmother. Struggling with the overwhelming task of parenthood, his stepmother moves away, leaving their fragile relationship in danger of falling apart. Amid the growing tension, the boy begins to hear disturbing sounds echoing through the corridors, and is soon haunted by the presence of a grotesque creature that bears a disturbing resemblance to his late father. As the boy’s warnings are dismissed as the imagination of a grieving child, a sinister entity tightens its grip on their crumbling lives.
